Description and Rationale
Who we are: Cosmic Tortuga, a veteran-owned aerospace engineering company. I’m an Army vet, 25 years in aviation MRO, MS in Space Systems from Embry-Riddle.
Why we’re here: Taxi-out is a problem I’ve lived for 25 years. I know what drives it: the congestion, the runway assignments, the stand-to-runway distances, the operator and aircraft-type effects. Most teams will throw a generic model at the data. We’re going to use the domain knowledge first, then the model. That’s where the accuracy is.
What we bring: Real aviation operations experience, a physics-informed approach to modeling, and a track record of building aerospace AI. We’re here to compete, contribute to open aviation research, and prove that domain expertise beats generic ML.
