Description and Rationale

We are a two-person team combining backgrounds in Computer Science and Aerospace Engineering / Air Traffic Control (ATC). One of us is a Computer Science student focused on machine learning and scalable data pipelines, while the other brings domain knowledge as an aerospace engineer and current ATC trainee with a deep interest in ATM efficiency.

We registered for the PRC Data Challenge 2026 because predicting taxi-out times sits precisely at the intersection of our skill sets. Accurately modeling ground congestion, airport surface dynamics, and pushback-to-takeoff delays presents a realistic, high-impact operational challenge. We are strongly aligned with the challenge’s open-science mission and look forward to developing robust, open-source models on OpenSky Network data and contributing our solution to the broader aviation research community.
