Description and Rationale
I’m a junior data scientist working in the aviation domain, where I currently tackle problems very close to this one —modelling operational timings and airport performance from messy, real-world movement data.I’m taking part to benchmark my approaches against the wider community, learn from how others handle the same challenges I face at work, and hopefully contribute a useful model for estimating excess taxi fuel burn and CO2. Beyond the leaderboard, I see this as an opportunity to give back to the open aviation-data community that my own work relies on.
